Data Handling and Retention

Effective date: March 4, 2026

This document defines default retention and processing behavior for Video Context cloud fallback.

Processing Flow

  1. User prompt includes explicit per-request cloud consent.
  2. Plugin calls cloud analysis endpoint with consent enabled.
  3. Gateway checks entitlement and rate-limit, then runs analysis.
  4. Temporary upload files are deleted within the retention window.

Retention Defaults

  • Raw media upload: temporary only, up to 15 minutes.
  • Derived timeline JSON: not stored by default.
  • Billing usage events: stored for 30 days.
  • API key hash and prefix: stored until revoked plus audit retention.

Residency and Third Parties

  • Cloud analysis requests are forwarded to configured model provider only after consent.
  • Billing data is processed by Stripe.

User Controls

  • Revoke API keys immediately through dashboard key controls.
  • Disable cloud fallback by omitting consent phrase.
  • Use local-only mode when running local media tooling.
